Toontown Retextured was a project aimed to completely overhaul textures and models for Toontown Rewritten, which was announced on September 16, 2014.[1] More backstage information on the project was discussed during ToonFest at OMG!Con 2015, which was later followed by a backstage blog post that announced the 3D modeling piece of the project and showed a retextured version of The Brrrgh.[2] Development on the project was put on hold due to becoming too ambitious, though a new separate project titled Toontown Remastered was announced as the successor during ToonFest: Birthday Bash on May 26, 2023,.
