New Year's Top Toons Marathon
The New Year's Top Toons Marathon was an event that typically occurred on the first day of January where the main objective was to defeat the most Cogs or recover the most Cog Building floors in a specific short period of time. Toons who successfully reached a significant number of defeated Cogs or recovered Cog Building floors won an exclusive Top Toons shirt of some kind. Marathons hosted from 2015 to 2018 awarded the Gold Medal Shirt, whereas the 2020 marathon was the first to award a new shirt called Victor's Varsity Shirt.
Trivia
- A similar marathon was held throughout the weekend of OMG!Con 2016 from June 10th to June 12th.
- In favor of the Winter Laff-o-lympics, a marathon did not take place in 2019.
- A marathon did not take place in 2021 because the Toontown Rewritten Team stated they want to rethink the way the event is handled in order to bring more fun and inclusivity.[1] On December 31, 2022, it was announced that the New Year's Top Toons Marathon was retired in favor of the forthcoming Toon HQ Takeover event.[2]
