- She is named after Sam Spade, the protagonist of the classic detective novel The Maltese Falcon.
- As of the 2.1.5 update that was released on March 29, 2018, she was given her own detective outfit and changed to be skinny after previously being chubby, to reflect her appearance depicted in a Toontown Online trading card.[1]
