The Gold Rod is the fifth fishing rod that can be purchased from Clarabelle's Cattlelog for 2,000 jellybeans in Series 1, Issue #8 and beyond. If the Steel Rod is not purchased before Series 1, Issue #8, the Gold Rod appears in the following Cattlelog issue after it is purchased. It requires five jellybeans per cast and can catch fish up to 20 pounds in weight, capable of catching all 70 fish species.
